As time has passed from the sixties and seventies, great artists have been forgotten. Phil Ochs is one of them. Although today Phil Ochs is largely known only to folk music fans, he is remembered primarily as an anti-war musician. However, his other music flowed and flew like no other artist before or after.
Unfortunately, I could never hope to summarize one of the greatest musicians of his age.
Below is an interview he gave; I know not when, but two masterpieces of Ochs, "The Highwayman" and "Changes," are sung by him. The Highwayman is a personal favorite of mine; I hope it will become one of yours. Please, enjoy:
